If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
So we
are all on track to close on our home at the end of January. Inspection was
mostly done, the big things we were concerned about were taken care of.
That’s is until we found out the roof was no good and would
have to be replaced. The seller flat out refused to pay for it. Then we were in
tough spot.
Because were first time home buyers, we went with an FHA
loan. So with the roof being in horrible shape FHA won’t let it pass. So now
what are we supposed to do? Move on? Or hope FHA doesn’t notice it.
Thankfully Jeff comes to the rescue! Jeff told the seller we
could pay $1,500 to help towards the roof. Thankfully the seller agreed to
these terms.
So we got to pick out the color of our new roof, which was a
blast. We decided on a color called Driftwood. (It’s the picture featured with today’s
blog)
We even went with impact resistant ones, those are highly recommended
because of the hail damage Colorado gets. Then it also saves me $300 on my
homeowners insurance every year. That’s something for any home owner to check
out!
So now we are all back on track to getting our first house!
Now let’s cross our fingers that nothing else goes wrong.
Interesting story about your roof inspection. I can only imagine how frustrating that is being in the process of selling or buying a house and finding yet another thing that needs to be taken care of. What's the shelf life on a roof nowadays anyway? With all the extreme weather my husband thinks every five years. Can't be.
